Course Description

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of databases and relational database management systems (RDBMS). Students will learn how to design databases and use SQL (Structured Query Language) to create, manipulate, and retrieve data efficiently.


Course Objectives

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand basic database concepts and terminology

  • Explain the relational database model

  • Design simple databases using ER diagrams

  • Write SQL queries to create, retrieve, update, and delete data

  • Apply constraints and relationships between tables

  • Understand basic normalization concepts
